Avoid using harsh skincare products like retinol and acne treatments at least 4 to 5 days prior to your appointment. These products can make your skin more sensitive to the facial treatment

Since microdermabrasion only treats the superficial layers of the skin, 6 to 12 treatments are often necessary every 3 to 4 weeks to maximize results. People with acne or acne scarring may need more treatments.

You should NOT be getting a microdermabrasion if you have skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema, dermatitis, herpes, lupus, open sores, psoriasis, fragile capillaries or widespread acne.
